The Sandringham Dragons leadership group has been announced for the 2020 NAB League Girls season ahead of their round one clash against the Rebels this Saturday.
Captained by Winnie Laing, the group also consists of Alice Burke, Bella Eddey, Eliza McNamara, and Kiana Lynch.
With anticipation building ahead of the season's commencement, skipper Laing is beyond excited.
"Saying I'm just excited is an understatement," she said.
Laing was also full of praise for coach Tamara Hyett, who will look to lift the Dragons into finals calculations in 2020.
"This year we have an awesome head coach in Tam and her assistants are the best group of girls who are so hardworking," she said.
While Laing's enthusiasm holds no limits, the star midfielder remains humble ahead of Saturday's road trip to Ballarat.
"Just to be part of the club is a privilege, so to be captain is extremely humbling and an unbelievable honour alongside a strong leadership group," she explained.
With a strong culture brewing at the Dragons the captain didn't shy away from their finals goal, while maintaining it would be an enjoyable season ahead.
"The culture introduced by Tam, and a continuing participation of all the team encouraging one another makes this a great place to be," she said.
"As for a prediction of what to expect this year from the team, [you can expect] a dedicated and lively performance from our group will be on show each week, then as the season goes on hopefully finals is in our sight with fun and enjoyment along the way."
The Dragons will look to strike gold in Ballarat as they take on the Rebels at City Oval from 11.30am this Saturday.
